This years Explore Sweden Monster - Atlantic 2 Baltic has come to an end. It was a great success and the competition went without any mayor incidents or injuries. Fourteen teams started and nine of them reached the finish line within the time limit, two teams finished on their mountainbikes and got ranking, only three teams had to withdraw.
- It's fantastic that so many teams managed to complet such a tough and demanding course, said race director Mikael Lindnord.
The race started in a furious speed and went on liked that the first two days, then it was only Silva who managed to keep a high speed. Silva got a rather big gap, which they maintained in to the finish line.
Silva was outstanding in this race and crushed the Monster in 106 hours and 25 minutes, an amazingly high average speed of approximately 180 kilometer per day.
- That must be some kind of record in adventure racing, said Mikael Lindnord at the price giving ceremony late on Friday evening.
Last team on the course was Robinzonada, who managed the cut off with just minutes to spear. They were the last who raced the whole course and reached the finish line at 15.00 on Saturday.
