The 2009 edition of Explore Sweden became the Monster.
1060 km long, one of the longest adventure races in history, with the start in the coastal city of Sundsvall with a great journey through the middle of Sweden with a route through the mountains at the Norwegian border and back again.
Some fantastic areas of Sweden were explored like Sundsvall, Ånge/Ljungandalen, Helags, Sylarna, Åre, Sollefteå/Ådalen and Indalsälven.

The best placed Scandinavian team that have never raced outside the Nordic countries (Swe, Den, Nor, Fin) will win a free entry and flight tickets to Abu-Dhabi Adventure Challenge in December.

 Explore Sweden is a member of the Adventure Racing World Series. This means that the winning team recieves a free entry to the Adventure Racing World Championship 2009, in Portugal.
