Explore Sweden Expedition Adventure Race

Explore Sweden is back! The teams will discover the best of Sweden and the amazing High Coast with its unique and beautiful terrain.

The race course is 400 km. The course will take the teams through the spectacular and very variable terrain of the High Coast which is a world heritage area.

The disciplines are carefully and delicately chosen to match the course design.

Good navigation is critical for the race, with maps and roadbook. The race includes kayaking in the oceans and in creeks, challenging ropeworks, mountainbike, downhill biking, coasteering at the steep coastline, island traversing in the fantastic archipelago, inlines and trekking.

Where and how

The race is open to 4 person teams, mixed, with no assistants. The location is the High Coast, between the cities Örnsköldsvik and Kramfors.

The High Coast area is 650 km north of Stockholm.

Prizes

Prize money and prizes of a total value of 160.000 SEK, and the winning team will get a free entry to the Adventure Racing World Championship 2008 in Brazil.

Destination

The destination will be the High Coast Area.

Weather

The weather will be anything from sunshine to rain. During the days it will be around +16 to +24 degrees centigrade and during the nights it will be around +5 to +10.

Getting to the meeting point

There are different ways getting to the meeting point:

Air

Travel directly from Stockholm Airport, Arlanda, to Örnsköldsvik. If you haven't booked the your flight to Örnsköldsvik directly through your airline you can book a domestic flight from Arlanda

Rent a car in Stockholm that you can leave in Örnsköldsvik, then make an other reservation for your return journey to Stockholm

Bus

There are also buses going from Stockholm to Örnsköldsvik.

The bus leaves from Stockholm Arlanda airport and stops at the bus station in Örnsköldsvik.

Örnsköldsvik bus station has daily transports to Örnsköldsvik airport.
