In a beautiful time of the year the unsupported Adventure Racing World Series event Explore Sweden took place in the High Coast region.

In four days during September the teams of four travelled trough the spectacular coastline and archipelago covering almost 500km.

The race included island traverses, mountain biking, coasteering, running, ropeworks, inlines and kayaking. The course design showed the best part of the area and at the same time put the team to the test in tactics, navigation, physical and mental strength.

Explore Sweden 2008 made history by being the first adventure race ever where all teams reached the finish line.

Explore Sweden is a member in the Adventure Racing World Series. This membership means for the winning team a free entry to the Adventure Racing World Championship 2008 that will be held in Brazil. The second placed team in Explore Sweden will also be directly qualified to the World Championship in Brazil.

Explore Sweden and Abu-Dhabi Adventure Challenge 2008 presents ADTA Awards:

The best placed Scandinavian team that have never raced outside the Nordic countries (Swe, Den, Nor, Fin) will win a free entry and flight tickets to Abu-Dhabi Adventure Challenge in December.
