Disciplines
Navigation
All disciplines demand skills in night and day navigation with the help of compass, maps and road book. The maps will be 1:100,000 with an equidistant of 20 meters. The navigation is critical in this race, with parts of difficult orienteering
Kayaking
Double kayak in beautiful lakes, rivers and creeks. You will paddle in water where the snow just have melted from the big mountain ranges, so the water will be very cold and fresh. If you are lucky there may still be ice in the water.
Trekking/Orienteering
Along trails and out in the wild. Orienteering in the great forgotten woods, marshlands and challenging bushwack.
Ropeworks
Several high and exposed ascents, Via Ferratas, and Rope traverses, with the highest saftey and proffesional staff.
Mountainbike
Bike in great surrondings on roads and tracks.
Bike&Run
Two bikers, two runners. Team tactics is vital.
Mountaineering/Cross skiing/Snowshoeing
A great mix of waist deep snow, high alpine mountaineering and bush. Travel trough beautiful scenes on foot, with snowshoes and on skis with steel edges. Some sections are very technical and steep. These sections will be the highlights of the year.
Kickbike
A fast transport from one mountain range to the next. The teams will be
carrying all their mountain gear during this section.
Kickspark
A traditional way of transport in the Swedish winters. Very fast on ice. |
